Wikis

Wikis, I think, are a very useful tool for sharing information. Interested groups of people are able to collaborate on a project, even though they may live in another state or country, without leaving their desk.

A useful tool for information sharing amongst professionals.

In libraries information and ideas can be shared. The Local History or Corporate Libraries would find a wiki useful to share information amongst library staff and customers.

What about a wiki for an online book club?

Wikis are easy to use and a great tool to share information.

Shoeburyness Beach Essex, leigh on Sea, Southend on Sea

This is the beach my family and I swam at during the summer months in England. It is a far cry from the beautiful pristine beaches of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. The beach was very rocky and I used to wear plimsolls so that I wouldn't cut my feet open.

This picture does bring back fond memories of my time as a young child living in Southend-on-Sea.

Licence 2 Test Drive

This is a fantastic concept! I am excited about our library staff learning more about Web 2.0 technologies and how they can use them personally and professionally.

All our staff received blog training last year with the intention of following up with the 23Things program. But alas we had a few technical problems and this went by the wayside. So I was excited to hear about SLQ taking up the challenge of the 23Things program.

I believe libraries should incorporate Web 2.0 technologies - not necessarily all. I don't think we should do it just for the sake of it but use what works for you.
